"The Lions" painting from The Couples series

50x40 cm, acrylics on canvas, not framed,  SOLD!!!

Done two years ago in 2011, the largest painting in the series of "the couples", sold for 280$ to a great person, very nice lady. 

She is also commissioned me for another painting especially for her, it will be a still life painting.

I was amazed by the fact that she feels such a connection to a painting that I intentionally did for myself. She saw a photo of it and told me that she was searching for a painting of two lions for several years. The moment she saw my painting she said "Oh, I love these lions, I will purchase this painting!"

I feel rather comfortable with the price because I know this lady in person and because an artist had to start from something, so be it!

Snow (painted wood box) update

Some progress on the Foxes

Now it looks like this - 

 I really hope to work more on this series, but my regular life is a killer for art right now. At least I am slowly progressing with these foxes and not stopping. The canvases with the sketches waited more than a year until I finally felt that I am ready to proceed in painting with oils. The main obstacle was the fact that I wanted to make a Celtic border at the bottom of every canvas, I even did it at one, but I just could not proceed to work on this borders, it was too complicated for me, so I left the canvases aside for more than a year! This until eventually I decided to abandon the idea of celtic borders at the bottom and just to paint, finally.
I also had a huge dilemma with the top corners but it was solved right when I started painting.
Well wish me luck if you want to see the series complete.

On a personal note -
I had my 25th birthday at the last Sunday - 14/4.  :)
And with great help from my friends and family I got a brand new Canon SX50 for my birthday, which is a huge upgrade from my old Canon S2 IS. I love it so much! By the way the second photo of the Foxes project is shoot with the new camera.
The old one did a great job for almost 8 years! But I was in need to renew the lenses.

Lucky Update

A new photos of Lucky, our family Vizsla puppy, as you see she grows with every new day :) and bites very hard. But she grows more polite with every new day.

Lucky the Vizsla!

You are welcome to meet Lucky, our family Vizsla puppy. We just love her! She is nine weeks old and growing every day. We took her to my parents home a week ago, just in time for a puppy to accept a human pack. And she has all of her tail :) as in Israel it is forbidden by law to shorten tails and ears of dogs, even if they are pure breed. 

She walks, runs and plays a looooot!

I hope I'll have my own vizsla puppy from Lucky within the next two years :)

The art gift for my sister is almost done, I have some retouches to complete and some areas to work more on, but it's almost done! So take a look...

At the studio where I work for two hours weekly with an amazing tutor and a great company of amazing people we take a model class from time to time, so here are some recent works from the last week.
I admire the people who work as models for painters, they actually encourage me not to be afraid of my own body and to respect it as well.

On ART books
I am a book worm and that is known but I also love art books because they are endless wells of inspiration, and I strongly suggest you to learn from as much for them as you can.

Some art books that I've found interesting and useful for me lately, all of them were bought at a reduced price in some local book stores. Yep, books are definitely my addiction!

Auguste Rodin by Jane Mayo Roos (Phaidon)

As every painter needs a bunch of knowledge of human anatomy, so to learn from the best sculptors it's always a useful tip, so go and find some good sculpture book for you!

Romanesque: Architecture, Sculpture, Painting by Rolf Toman

As the basic knowledge of architecture is essential for every painter that wants to make some outhentic medieval or fantasy art. Although the Romanesque style is mostly for churches and I am definitely not in to religion, I strongly recommend to learn from the amazing architectures of the past!

A series of little photography books that I found quite amusing for me.  Both are printed by Lark.

Spinning

A little update just to remind myself that I still have some personal and art life. Well, I'll start from personal, you are welcome to say Mazal Tov for me and my fiance, after five years of great, healthy and amazing relationship we decided to take a step further and now we are engaged! :) 

The proposal was cute and cuddly and we celebrated our five years during a little weekend vacation at the north part of Israel.

And here is an art update, I am currently working on couple of projects and here is a little progress update of one of them. It's my sister while she was pregnant with my cute nephew. Now he is almost seven months old.  :) This is a surprise work for her birthday in April so... shhh on that!

I am so glad that I convinced my sister and her husband to take a "pregnant series of photos", they are so beautiful together and the photographers did a great job with them.

By the way I am also very happy that my "Cracal" watercolor painting got a Daily Deviation at Deviantart at the beginning of January, and that's great and delightful!
